Small Works Big Picture,
Mockingbird Arts, Dublin 1 and Altar Simpl, Skerries;
May 2009

Small Works, Big Picture was an exhibition of drawing, painting, photographic and other small 2d works by 42 artists in aid of South African school, orphanage and community village Botshabelo Magaliesburg. Botshabelo works with children who been orphaned by AIDS, have HIV/AIDS or are victims of severe poverty. Proceeds of €3,685 from the sale of these works went to this special cause. Works by the following artists were included: Deirdre Ambrose, Mark Beatty, Claire Behan, Kate Betts, Oisin Byrne, Rhona Byrne, Leona Clinton, Edia Connole, Susan Connolly, Kevin Cosgrove, Joe Coveney, Hugh Delap, Aoife Desmond, Caroline Donohue, Vanessa Donoso Lopez, Clodagh Emoe, Laura Fitzgerald, Monica Flynn, Mark Garry, Jennie Guy, Russell Hart, Deirdre Hayden, Anne Hendrick, Sarah Hurl, Vanessa Marsh, Hugh McCarthy, Bea McMahon, Ciara Moore, Ben Mullen, Kate Murphy, Brian Nealon, Seamus Nolan, Beth O'Halloran, Ciara O'Hara, Ben Readman, Bennie Reilly, Sheila Rennick, Emma Roche, Kitty Rogers, Celine Sheridan, Lucy Sheridan, Linda Shevlin, Saskia Vermeulen, Amy Walsh, Louise Ward, Dianne Whyte.

This exhibition took place in two locations. One was in Mockingbird: a semi-domestic space for developing projects in progress or presented to an invited audience. The other was a temporary space Altar Simpl in Skerries, county Dublin.
